A breath-taking meander
The course of the Orne forms an almost perfect loop here. You can make out the peninsula formed by this impressive meander.
It’s hard to believe that such a place could exist just 2 km from La Roche d’Oëtre. Photo enthusiasts take note: the view is breath-taking. We can’t even find the words to describe it, you simply have to go there!
- If you’re curious to investigate further then continue along the small road along the escarpment, turn right and you’ll arrive at Lac de Saint-Philbert, another secret nugget! The (public) lakeside fields are ideal for just sitting and contemplating the peace and quiet.
- Tip: It’s a great spot for a sheltered family picnic.
- Enjoy the view on foot as you take the “Entre Orne et Rouvre” trail starting from La Roche d’Oëtre (7.6 km).
